*Meegan*
What a relief!!! I'm soooo glad to be holding our little girl in my arms now!
A few quick details, I have no idea when I'll get her birth story written, but I know so many are curious!
*We made it to the birth center!! Yay! And without great amounts of stress, everything fell into place! Smooth and peaceful!
*This birth was intense! 2.5 hrs of labor, 1.5 hrs of real labor though, the last 1/2 an hr was killer.
*I am so happy that it was a water birth though! The contractions out of the water were worse, though the water didn't make the huge difference I was hoping for (bummer...), it did make it much easier to move around which was great.
*Basically no tears! Too much information? Sorry, but this is huge for me!!! The stitches nearly kill me after every birth and it's been sooo much easier to recover without those terrible stitches! I think it was the water that made the difference for tearing, because with Nathan and Emily I did everything I knew to do to prevent tearing and it didn't help. Meegan is my biggest baby yet too!
That's about all I can think of... My brain is rather mushy right now as Meegan was up till 6 am, (no no, not up at 6, up till 6am... party animal...) hopefully tonight is better. She's been great all day!
She's so beautiful. I wish so much I could hold her. Yay for no tears. I'll have to call you but I'll wait for a few weeks so you can get into a groove and rest. 1.5 hrs is intense but I'm glad you made it to the birth center and got to use the tub. Congratulations to the whole family!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lola! I'm soooo glad it's over with!! I think the way you did things, in being in one place for a week would have been nicer, but I'm glad we made it to the birth center at least :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, she's a beauty!! I think she looks like Levi in that picture! She has a very round face! That's what Peter's face looked like. We have on video, my sister in-law saying that he looked like a butter ball!! Of course he was 9 13 so he was really plump!
