Catch up post #1. Kayla's Birthday!
Kayla's Birthday was two weeks ago already. Since we had celebrated this summer with a party for both the "bigs" (Levi and Kayla) we just had a little family time to celebrate her. She got to choose 2 of meals for the day and so we had pancakes for breakfast and homemade pizza for supper.
So to celebrate Kayla, let me tell you a little about her :)
My Kayla is such a little trouper, she's got amazing strenghth, that girl. She doesn't always see it, but she constantly amazes me. She's growing up far too fast. Yet, at the same time, I'm really enjoying her as she grows. Being able to relate to her in a different way now is a lot of fun. We love to play games, she likes to shop with me and help me in the kitchen. My job now is to let her have more space in these areas. I find I'm so used to doing all the meal prep work on my own I don't always want to stop and set her up. But she's almost at the place where I don't even need to stop. She see's me cutting and she grabs her own knife and cutting board. Or if I'm stiring or doing dishes she just comes and askes if she can do it instead. She's very determined to learn all this. Like I said, she really amazes me. I don't think I cared all that much when I was her age!
She's doing amazing in her schooling this year too. Just flying through it all. She's already into January's books. I really have trouble keeping her busy on school days because she's done her work so fast. Piano has just clicked for her this year too. Last year I was a bit concerned because she just didn't seem to get it, but I decided not to push her and I asked the teacher to just continue giving her easy pieces so she could enjoy playing what she could. Well... she shocked me this year. Man, she just loves to play and she plays and plays and.... yes, plays... We're often having to stop her, our ears are ringing. But it's all good. I'd much rather hear a piano peice played a thousand times then screaming and fighting!
Yes, my Kayla is growing up. She's 7 years old now. I can't believe it.
I love you Kayla girl, and I'm so proud of you I could pop! (but I won't... cause, that's just gross... who ever came up with that expression??)
ps-where is spell check? I appologize for my terrible spelling. I'm hopeless... I know.

I don't know her well but I've enjoyed seeing her from the pickups/dropoffs for gymtime. I noticed and was impressed today how she just started doing her craft as we were talking in the entry way. She is also very polite even when interupted by the boys. I think she's super sweet. Happy Birthday Kayla!
